Lufthansa continues to expand its fleet with special exterior liveries in celebration of its 100 years of history.
The latest addition is an Airbus A350-900, registration D-AIXL, which recently landed in Munich and has now officially joined the group of aircraft decorated for the centenary.
So far, the airline had already unveiled two aircraft with the commemorative identity: a Boeing 787-9 (D-ABPU) and an Airbus A320neo (D-AING).

With the arrival of the A350-900, Lufthansa moves closer to the so-called “complete set” announced for the celebrations, which is still expected to include an Airbus A380, a Boeing 747-8, and the first Airbus A350-1000 in the company’s fleet.
Beyond what had been officially planned, the airline surprised observers by revealing an additional exterior livery that had not been previously announced. An Airbus A321ceo, registration D-AISZ, received in Norwich the special livery known as “Parabola,” further expanding the visual reach of the centenary celebrations.
Interestingly, this scheme is not unprecedented in the company’s history. Another Airbus A321, registration D-AIRX, operated with a similar exterior livery between 2005 and 2014.
At the time, the design was known as the “50th Anniversary Retro” and celebrated 50 years since Lufthansa’s rebirth in 1955, following the Second World War.

Now, 21 years after that tribute, the airline revives the visual concept to mark an even more symbolic milestone: Lufthansa’s centenary, turning its fleet into an aerial showcase of its own history.
